As an educator, I believe that it is important to help every student fulfill the greatest expression of him or herself intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Therefore, as the Assistant Principal of Porter elementary, it is my responsibility to make sure that my students’ classroom experiences are positive and comprehensive in nature. To accomplish this mission, I focus on: (1) providing conducive learning environments (2) creating engaging learning opportunities, and (3) encouraging application and introspection for continuous growth for students and teachers.
This is my 27th year in education and my 20th year in Bibb. I have worked in elementary schools and high schools. In witnessing the progression of my students from elementary to high school and to college, it has given me an opportunity to observe firsthand how certain aspects of a child’s education can significantly impact their overall well-being, future, and community. Therefore, in working cooperatively with students, parents, businesses, and other community stakeholders for several years, I understand the importance of providing students with the best educational experiences that will meet their individual needs. It is my goal to prepare our youth for the future by providing them with every opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills that will enable them to navigate through life’s obstacles and succeed beyond expectations!
